I have owned both dogs and cats in the past. Both times they had to be given away and I miss them so much. Unfortunately, I still don't have much time to be at home and take care of any animals so I live my happy pet moments vicariously through blogs like these :)

 With her super soft mane. <br><br>At the time I was living in a residential complex and one day Lola went out to go "get some" at all of 9 months old and about 8 weeks later, I had 5 more of the cutest little hairballs in my house. The babies stayed with Lola for about 6-8 more weeks and then I gave them away to my fellow cat lovers until there was but one left - the runt of the litter. He was grey, with a wide face and a squinshed up right eye. I can't remember why, but we called him Baby Batman. He was Lola's only baby left and I won't deny I felt guilty for giving her babies away without her knowing. When she came back and realised that her babies were gone, she meowed all over the house for a good half an hour trying to find them. It broke my heart. So although I knew I really couldn't afford to, I kept him for her sake.<br><br>I feel like the Universe took a step into my life when Baby Batman was about 9 weeks old and he just wasn't eating any of the cat food. I took extra care to make sure it was really soft for him, but he wouldn't eat. Eventually I took him to the vet who discovered that Baby Batman had a sore on the side of his lip, where the upper lip and bottom lip are adjoined. It turned out he wasn't eating because it was too painful. <br><br>Before I start crying, the long and short of it is that I had to make a decision to let Baby Batman go. His infection became worse and I couldn't afford the surgery to fix him up. I kept Lola for another 4-5 months after that but had to give her away to a friend when I moved to the coast. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of Lola or Baby Batman way back then, but this is the latest picture I have of her from my friend.){kind=link}
