He really was an impulse buy, he was adorable (long white hair with a black nose), and only cost $35.00, the salesman at the pet store convinced me rabbits were the easiest pets ever to care for. (LIES!) By the time I was done purchasing a cage, water bottle, feed, and bedding for Kilo, I had spent about $200.00. As Kilo got older I felt super guilty keeping him locked in his cage so I used to let him out and run around the house, he was potty trained almost instantly, we would leave the cage door open and whenever he was hungry or had to use the bathroom he would return to his cage and do his business. Long-haired rabbits make a mess of your home though, he shed more hair than my dog and cats combined. Also, I had no idea how much damage a cute little fluffy rabbit could do, he scratched and dug up several pieces of linoleum in our kitchen and chewed every wire he could find (we had to have our cable rewired TWICE). All of those things I could deal with, if he was a loving pet, but he hated me! He wouldn't let me pet him or hold him, EVER! And whenever any of the kids tried to pick him up he clawed their arms with his nails. After about a year of torture I came to terms with the fact that Kilo just wasn't a good fit for our family, and frankly I don't think he wanted to live with us, I gave him to a family friends who breeds rabbits. <br><br>PHOTO: Wiki Media Commons){kind=link}
