I currently have two dogs, a Bichon Frise and a Chihuahua whom I love very dearly, and in the past I've owned two mixed breed cats and 4 parakeets.

 One last big commitment to think about when considering a Bichon is grooming. This is a must! They have very wiry hair that gets matted if you don't bathe and brush them regularly, or take them to have them groomed once every 6-8 weeks.){kind=link}
 Like I said, I know they can be very very friendly and loving- I eventually gave my budgie to someone who was more experienced with birds than I was so she could be happy. I would recommend a budgie to you, as long as you have the time, patience and persistence to love it. They need a lot of socialization and they chirp most of the day, so be warned! If you like a quiet house a budgie is not the bird for you. One thing I did like about them is that they have a very easy diet, they like seeds and some chopped up fruits, and they also will munch on budgie treats that you should be able to find in your pet store (which is cute!) And they also are easy to clean, just a few squirts of water from a spray bottle every now and then, other than that, they will groom and preen themselves.){kind=link}
