 from my brother-in-law. She was always really gentle, although we did hobble her when milking. She was very cold tolerant and, as we live in southwestern Wyoming, that was good. 30 to 40 degrees below 0 was par for the course, in the winter time. She was an excellent mother and didn't have any trouble, at all, calving. She gave us almost 3 gallons of milk a day. <br><br>The only thing is, if you milk a cow twice a day, daily, you WILL get Popeye arms. My middle son did the milking (he got out of dishes) and he was pretty thin, except for his lower arms, which were very muscled up. I guess that's the price you pay for getting out of dishes! Bossy was so good with him. I would have no problem recommending a Holstein if you want a good milk cow.){kind=link}
 uses puppy pads, in the house. In fact, I am sure that she waits until she gets into the house and goes straight for the puppy pads. Grooming is a nightmare because she loves to roll in whatever is outside. We've kept her with a short puppy cut in the summer and that does help, somewhat. She also gets sick, frequently, which means quite a few vet bills.<br><br>On the plus side, she is very good with children and the other dog in the house. She chases the outdoor cats, but if they turn on her, she'll run the other way. She is a very cute little dog, but she is a lot of work.){kind=link}
