. <br><br>The only downside to them was that once the numbers aiptasia seemed to dwindle they started to pick at my corals. This was not at all a desired service, and I didn't know how to stop it. Not to mention there was no catching them anymore, fauna once put into the reef aquarium are quite difficult to get out.. <br><br>They ended up really doing some dammage to some of my corals, but eventually the brittle star got them. All in all though a very good remedy for aiptasia infestation. The only thing is once the bad little anemonees are gone.. the shrimp tend to find substitutes for their cnidarian cravings.){kind=link}
. They are perfect for anyone who wants a friend as they will show you as much love as you're willing to show them. If you're looking for a bird that likes to snuggle they're definitely the bird for you (as a matter of fact my lovebird is snuggling with me right now). <br><br>Training in a lovebird is a breeze, when I got my lovebird she had not ever had any training, she didn't even know how to step up. After about a week of training and a lot of love she began to willingly step up, and now I can't do anything to get her to leave me alone. The little bird follows me all around the house and begs me for head scratches. <br><br>Another plus for the little parrots is that, unlike large parrots that need constant babying, peach-faced lovies will gladly entertain themselves for hours on end. Of course they still do need that interaction and should be given at least a couple hours of attention and play time out of cage for excercise. <br><br>Feeding lovebirds is simple as they will generally eat most anything (always feed your birds bird safe foods). Clementine gets a seed/pellet mixture as a staple daily, and fresh fruits and veggies once a day. It is very important to make sure you're giving your bird bird safe foods. <br><br>The only downside I could ever find in owning one of these fluffy little bundles of love is that they are very hyper and destructive. This means don't ever leave them unattended. My lovebird will always try to chew anything and everything in her path, she rips up carpet, chews paper, chews wires, rips keys off of keyboards (luckily they pop back on!), chew on house plants, they will basically chew on anything and everything their beak can get a hold of. Also lovebirds can be very aggressive towards other birds, cats, dogs or other animals in the house, they can even get into bitey moods towards you sometimes. Usually the bitey moods only last for a couple minutes and are often only when the lovebird is tired. <br><br>The last thing I would like to talk about is that common myth about the fact that lovebirds must be kept in pairs. From all my experience around lovebirds, the one thing I've noticed is that they will bond much better with their human friend when they are not kept in pairs. When they are kept in pairs they tend to bond with their little bird friend and begin to completely shut out and ignore their human. <br><br>All in all, great first time parrot, snuggly and loveable. I'm sure that anyone would be happy with such a loving little friend. Just show them that you know how smart they are, they'll really show you that they are little geniouses.){kind=link}

They have so many peculiar physical features, and knife fish are the only freshwater fish that can truly swim backwards ! Black Ghosts are nearly blind and they find their way around via an electrical field that they generate within their muscles above their caudal fin. <br><br>These in my opinion truly are the puppies of the freshwater aquarium hobby. When trained to be hand fed, a lot of the time they will become so tame that will lay down in your hands in the water. They are very intelligent and have a great sense of smell, and are great at sensing vibrations with their electrical field. They come out right away when you approach the aquarium to feed the fish. Our BGKs will come out and dance around at the surface waiting to be fed. We feed our Black ghosts a variety of frozen, and prepared flake and pelleted food. They have a voracious appetite and will eat most everything that we offer them. <br><br>Many have said that they have issues with their ghosts eating smaller fish. We haven't found that to be a problem, we keep our ghost knives with a variety of small tetras and other baby fish in our grow out tank. They are very gentle and keep tend to themselves. <br><br>They are rarely aggressive, but we have found that the only time they are aggressive is when they are startled. When startled they will nip. They are truly not a aggressive natured fish, and if you're looking for a very interesting, people friendly wet pet, the black ghost knife is likely for you (unless ofcourse you don't have the room to accomodate an 18" fish).){kind=link}
