I am especially fond of dogs! The ideal environment for me is a home in the country with plenty of space and plenty of critters roaming around!

 one Spring. He appeared to be your normal potbellied pig-lazy, always munching, snorting for no reason. This little piggy, though, went to the market in very special ways. <br><br>For the first week he stayed in the fenced in yard we created for him. It was his own little haven with trees, plenty of dirt to roll in and a regular supply of food. One morning upon coming out to feed him, he was nowhere in sight with no apparent signs of his whereabouts. Did somebody steal our pig? Finally, 30 minutes later, we saw a fat belly and even plumper rump moseying through the far reaches of our property. He had found himself a nice little foraging patch full of bugs to eat. We promptly delivered him back to his home. The same thing happened the next morning and the one after that. How was he getting out? So one day we went out early in the morning to see if we could catch him in action. Sure enough, we discovered Houdini’s magic escape route. A little hole he’d dug under the fence that was hidden behind the oak tree in his yard. That chubby booger was smart! <br><br>We eventually got the notion that Houdini didn’t like being confined to one area. He was a pig with dreams to roam open plain. So we let him. At night we put him up, in his newly boarded and wired up yard, to keep him safe from the coyotes. <br><br>We found Houdini to be smart and stubborn. It was always entertaining to watch him struggle to drag himself through the yard after gorging on whatever he found in the grass. He was always gentle with children and got along well with the other animals. Except when the dogs got mad at him for eating out of their bowls when they turned their backs.){kind=link}
