, but he stubborn as heck so he won't move on his own. He then has to be moved at least twice more before he gets the message, heh. <br><br>He's one of the most fearless cats I've ever met. We have two dogs as well, but he came in as a tiny little slip of a kitten and has felt right at home ever since. In fact, he not only plays tag with our Chihuahua, but is often the one instigating the game and he's usually the one doing the chasing! That speaks also to his playfulness.<br><br>He's also very independent. Again, this is not necessarily a unique cat characteristic, but he's so young and yet he's really taken to the house we live in and can often be found hanging out off in his favorite spot of the moment - no matter how far removed it is from my wife, our two dogs and I. <br><br>He also appears to be rather impervious to cold. He has a big fluffy orange coat and happily hangs out in the coldest rooms of the house. In fact, he often seems to prefer them!<br><br>Since he is still growing, it has been a joy to watch him find new things, explore, and develop new characteristics. For example, he's recently starting to discover that it's actually kind of nice to come sit in our laps for a few minutes and receive cat rubs. <br><br>It's adorable to watch him grow into these new characteristics and sprout new quirks. The latest is a penchant for water. Not only does he scramble to drink out of any faucet with running water, but the other day his curiosity about the shower overcame him and he literally ran right through the shower spray!<br><br>Crookshanks has been a true ray of sunshine and is a most welcome addition to our family!){kind=link}
 home that day and he slept in my room in his crate that first night - calmed only by the embarrassing-to-admit-now sounds of the boy band All-4-One, after silence seemed to worry him and keep him from sleep.<br><br>It was the beginning of my first deep relationship with a dog.<br><br>While I spent a good amount of time training him in my own amateur way, it was Jayson who truly did the teaching. He taught me how important responsibility was. He showed me the value of loyalty. He taught me how to share my life and my time with someone else - someone who matters. He taught me how to relate ideas without words. He taught me empathy for another. In his own way, he taught me how to love beyond the examples my parents had put forth. And in his final days, he re-instilled in me the value of life, the preciousness of love, and how to deal with death. And these lessons truly helped shape me into the person I am today.<br><br>This is a difficult review for me to write. Jayson was my most cherished and true friend for more than 14 years before he passed away due to complications from cancer. But the legacy he left behind in the family who loved him will never be forgotten!){kind=link}
 with exemplary behavior, protective watch dog alarms, close and frequent cuddles, and - perhaps most interestingly - an emotional response gauge unlike anything we've ever seen in decades of pet ownership. <br><br>Wiggles is unique in his ability to sense and respond to human emotion. Many dog owners would say, "so what? My dog does that too," but Wiggles does so on an advanced level. He is so attuned to our feelings, the tone of our voices, and even our unspoken mindsets that he reacts accordingly: close cuddles (on the verge of an adorable smothering!) when we're sad, hiding under the bed when we're angry, running to one of his dog beds when we're speaking fervently, and even cowering, cuddling close, and shaking with emotion when we're truly and deeply upset. <br><br>It's honestly remarkable how attuned he is to our outlook - the point that it has become a gauge for me as well. I have a bit of a temper that I try very hard to keep in check and whenever it flares up - even slightly - I can tell that I need to calm down because Wiggles senses it and hides. He has literally helped me keep my own negative emotions in check! What more could you ask for! <br><br>On top of it all, he has been the most loving, loyal, cuddly, hilarious, quick-to-learn pup I've ever owned and I wouldn't trade him for the world!){kind=link}
