 and loved to swim in the lake -- pretty much any physical activity was right up her alley! But we never had to worry about her running away. Like I said -- fierce loyalty. She was also very protective of our family and our home, which is why I would say they may not be the best around small children and/or small animals. She didn't always get along with our other dog, which was an OE Sheepdog, I think again because of the protectiveness and loyalty to our family. That said, overall she was very well behaved, self sufficient and required very little grooming. More than anything, I would say she was an energetic, happy, intelligent dog. I would definitely recommend a Chessie to an active home, with lots of space for exercise!){kind=link}
 but they also require specialized food and a vitamin mixture to keep them healthy. While they can be skittish at first, once they warm up to you they can be a very rewarding pet. My two love to perch on my shoulders and climb all over me. They are sweet and full of love but, like I said, not for beginner pet owners.){kind=link}

She was full of energy and you could easily see her sheepdog roots. Whenever we would have large gatherings, she always would try to "herd" all the guests together, which was both adorable and impressive. She was an extremely smart dog, and very easy to train. The only major issue we had with her was that she didn't get along very well with our other dog, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. With time they started to get along, but there was always a little animosity there. We always suspected it was because she was the first dog in the house, so there were territorial issues going on when we brought in a second. But, she was always extremely friendly with people of all ages. Kids especially were drawn to her, probably because she was so big and fluffy. That said, the grooming on an Old English Sheepdog is obviously no easy task. They require professional groomers to keep them clean and tangle-free. Overall, I would say this dog is a great dog for active families who can keep up with his/her energy!){kind=link}
 plenty of times and I've never been afraid of Ted acting out. Guinea pigs do require a good amount of cage cleaning and maintenance, as their cages can become unsanitary and smelly pretty quickly. I clean out Ted's cage about once a week, which just entails changing out his bedding and making sure his home and his toys are clean. Ted is not a picky eater at all, which is great. He loves hay, pellets, and all sorts of vegetables. He has plenty of energy and likes to hop around his cage when he gets excited (especially at feeding time!). It's important to remember that guinea pigs can very easily get sick from dehydration, so they have to have access to fresh water at all times. In short, a guinea pig is a great pet as long as you're willing to put in the effort to keep it clean, fed, watered, and healthy. Do those things and you'll have a happy, energetic, and loving addition to the family.){kind=link}
