Hi! My name is Trinity, I'm 24 and my family are HUGE animal lovers. Throughout my childhood and into adulthood, I've owned many different kinds of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, parrots, other birds, ferrets, hamsters, mice, turtles, and more! My parents have also done a lot of animal rescue, so we've temporarily sheltered many birds such as owls and hawks. Getting a new and different kind of pet is always exciting, although some work out better than others. I hope my reviews help you find one that's right for you!

, and they were all wonderful pets. I had gotten the first one during college because I couldn't imagine my life without a pet after leaving my parents house, and hamsters were on the list of pets that were acceptable to have in my dorm room.<br><br>After they learned not to fear my hand, all three of them were very friendly. The first, Phineas, would wander around my desk while I studied and wrote papers, and would even occasionally curl up in the front pouch of my hoodie and sleep while I was at the computer. <br><br>The care for all three hamsters was cheap and relatively low-maintenance. I loved them all deeply, and that's actually the reason I haven't owned any since - they tend to have a short lifespan, and Phineas grew the oldest, living for just under 3 years. After I lost the third hamster at just over two years old, I decided that I couldn't allow myself to keep getting so attached just to be so sad when they were gone. They were all wonderful, and made my life happier for the short time that I was blessed to own them.){kind=link}

He had told the family before about some that he had owned in his younger days and how much he had adored them. There were two hens and a rooster, and us kids were instantly fascinated by their bright blue faces, size, and feet and odd "hair".<br><br>They lived in a pen in our living room for the next few days while my father fashioned a chicken coop out of an old cabinet out in our barn, outfitting it with a heat lamp and some hay. Once transported out there, they instantly fell in love with their new surroundings. My siblings and I jokingly gave them what we deemed to be chicken-appropriate names - Alfredo, Fricassee, and Cacciatore.<br>They were small, friendly birds who laid the most beautiful little colored eggs.<br>My dad certainly loved them the most - he used to carry one around on the lawn mower with him and was always trying to get them to follow him around. <br><br>Unfortunately one day, the neighbor's dog got to them, and that was the end of the Silkie experience.){kind=link}

Still, he always retained the snuggly affection of any loving kitty, and slept curled above my head every night.<br><br>Cheddar is 3 years old now, and most of the time seems to think he's a big dog. His intelligence amazes me constantly - he plays fetch with pens, and I've taught him to sit, lay down, stay, and shake on command. He always greets me at the door when I get home, and he always snuggles up with me for at least a little while before bed. Who says man's best friend has to be a dog?){kind=link}
