Unlike canaries, for example, budgies husk their seeds before eating them so they do NOT need grit. In fact grit can pose a health hazard to budgies. They’re quite vocal when stimulated, often celebrating with a whiffling sound when the see their favourite human, make that adorable little trilling sound when they’re happy, and have those big eyes that just say “love me!”.  is of Scottish heritage, looking similar to the more familiar Old English Sheepdog, (OES may be a genetic descendant of the BC) but with a full-length, un-cropped tail. While they are high energy working dogs, ideally suited to sheep and cattle tending, they also make wonderful pets, being completely socialized by the time they’re ready to be adopted. They are fantastic with kids, and even other different species pets, being very gentle and solicitous, and highly resistant to temper displays when provoked.<br><br> On the downside, they need to be brushed thoroughly, three times a week, from the light, fluffy outer coat, all the way down to the waterproof undercoat. Failure to do so results in mats which can then provide a home for parasites. People often choose Beardies not only for their friendly, outgoing personality, but because they make great show dogs that can win plenty of ribbons. They seem to thrive best on a good quality dry dog food with lots of clean water readily available.<br><br> If you’re wintering up north in the cottage, a couple of Beardies make great sleeping companions, better by far than a mere electric blanket.  they are perfectly content to sleep, eat and that other thing that pets do-do (you need to clean their cage daily)… They’re happier when there is more than one. Once they have run around for a while and burned off some energy, they are perfectly content to lie on your chest or sit in your lap while you watch TV or work on the computer.<br><br> Ferrets are great pets. They have bags and bags of personality, and they are terrific fun to watch as they figure out problems (like learning how the zippers on your computer bag work so they can crawl inside and explore or sleep).){kind=link}
