I have had more than my share of experiences with a rather random array of animals and pets. From living on a farm, to having a pets in a studio apartment, to helping my parents run a rescue aviary for exotic birds, animal ownership has always been a significant and important part of my life.

![](https://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=https://rightpet.com/Thumbnail/BreedReviewsPhotos/19122014_817223591LivestockBreed_Minischweine.jpg&media=https://rightpet.com/Thumbnail/BreedReviewsPhotos/19122014_817223591LivestockBreed_Minischweine.jpg&description=When my father was offered a great deal on purchasing a "Miniature Pig"...he immediately jumped at the opportunity, and for a few months we had a cute little piglet running around our home!<br><br>Little did we know that shortly that pig would grow to be, well, not so miniature.<br><br>The pig was not only getting bigger than what the buyer had told us to expect, the pig was outgrowing the habitat and resources we expected would be enough for him, and we were made to make some very drastic and unpleasant modifications to our original idea of mini-pig pet ownership.<br><br>However, besides the effort and money we had to put into making a suitable and sizeable habitat and living area for our pig, overall our pig was extremely sweet and genuinely loving.<br><br>Our pig loved human affection, and enjoyed playing with our other animals, such as our dogs, just as much as they loved to interact with him.<br><br>He was also very mild tempered in comparison to the other pot bellied pig species we had owned, and did express any real level of aggression or negative behavior.<br><br>Besides his unexpected size, he was an extremely fulfilling and compatible pet for our family.<br><br>The only reason we ever parted with him was due to housing regulations in a new neighborhood we moved into, which did not allow for pig pets in the area.<br><br>I would recommend this breed for an owner who is willing to accept that their pig will not remain as miniature as they are made out to be forever, and who also plans on living only in places where it will not be a problem to facilitate the habitat and needs of their pet pig.){kind=link}
![](https://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=https://rightpet.com/Thumbnail/BreedReviewsPhotos/18122014_1431232301FishSpc_sankekoi.JPG&media=https://rightpet.com/Thumbnail/BreedReviewsPhotos/18122014_1431232301FishSpc_sankekoi.JPG&description=My experience with the Sanke Koi was just as positive as with the other Koi breeds I owned.<br><br>The only differences between them were that the Sanke Koi were usually a bit more visible than the other breeds, due to the majority of white color on its body, and in my experience my Sanke grew larger than many of my other Koi.<br><br>The Sanke koi is very unique and beautiful, and its spotted and eclectic patterning made for a gorgeous contrast to the other solid colored fish within my Koi pond.<br><br>All of my Sanke seemed to have little to no health problems, and were never the victims of predators such as birds and racoons, like some of my other koi were.<br><br>They also seemed to be a bit more "hardy" in terms of health than some of the other breeds within my pond, such as the Butterfly Koi, and some of the smaller, more elaborate looking breeds.<br><br>Overall, these fish were very easy to handle and were slightly easier to maintain than the other breeds of Koi I owned.<br><br>I would recommend this breed for anyone looking for a beautiful and tranquil addition to their pond.){kind=link}
![](https://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=https://rightpet.com/Thumbnail/BreedReviewsPhotos/18122014_1042186011LivestockBreed_potbellie.jpg&media=https://rightpet.com/Thumbnail/BreedReviewsPhotos/18122014_1042186011LivestockBreed_potbellie.jpg&description=The only experience I've had with the Potbellied Pig was a very difficult one.<br><br>In his young age, our pig was generally even-tempered, although he was always somewhat reluctant of affection and extensive human contact.<br><br>Over time, our pig grew to be a very large, aggressive male, who also grew some rather large tusks that proved to further exacerbate the aggression he was able to express.<br><br>He was very apprehensive of humans, and did not like to have anyone come too close to him, even for feeding and habitat cleaning sessions.<br><br>He preferred to remain secluded, and often would go into his barn / den that we built for him, or else would laze about the yard by himself.<br><br>He did not really like our other animals, such as our dogs, but as long as they didn't antagonize him or get in his space, he never had any real conflicts with them.<br><br>However, due to our pig's aggressive attitude, it was difficult to maintain his habitat and needs, due to the fact that many of my other family members were apprehensive of approaching him, as he would become rather hysterical, make loud squeals, and would make threatening motions with his head and tusks.<br><br>In the end, we had no choice but to give our pig to a friend who had other Potbellied pigs, which allowed for him to have a more capable owner with more experience with this breed of animal.<br><br>I would not recommend this animal for anyone who does not have experience with farm animals, livestock, or other pigs, or for those who are just looking for a "unique" pet, as this breed is VERY high-maintenance in comparison to other animals.){kind=link}
