Ours was named Spot. He would watch us watching him. One day our cat was watching him and batted the acquarium, then Spot jumped at him. He scared the cat! Spot was very aware of what was going on around him.<br><br>He got along well with the other fish. He would hang on the glass and move around as he cleaned it. Sometimes he would sift through the pebbles in the tank, eating the algae and keeping the tank clean. Note that you must feed them food in addition to what they clean in the tank. They will starve if you do not feed them.<br><br>We learned that plecos like Spot absolutely love cucumbers. Take a thick slice of cucumber, use a binder clip to weight it down, and then drop it in the tank. Spot used to eat the inside of the slice clean in about a day. It was his favorite meal. Otherwise, we fed him algae disks which easily found at any pet store.<br><br>If you choose to get your own Spot, be aware that they grow to be quite large, and will need a large tank at some point in their life. He was fun to watch. I say "he", but, I'm not really certain. Gender is very difficult to ascertain.<br><br>Gecko's in captivity eat mainly live crickets. These are easily obtainable from a pet store and are not expensive. Do NOT provide your gecko with crickets or anything else found in the yard as these contain mites which WILL kill your gecko.<br><br>Our "Geico the Gecko" was fun to watch. If you make a habitat for your gecko that includes places to climb and hide, you will keep him happy. Again, do not obtain branches or anything else from the yard as these contain mites that will kill your gecko. We purchased a heating pad from the pet store that we applied to the bottom exterior of his cage (we used a glass fish tank). The heat is important to geckos as they are cold blooded creatures. <br><br>Geico was a great pet for my little girl. Watching him hunt the crickets and eat them was fascinating. Geico didn't really enjoy being handled, but we did handle him a little bit. He would crawl up a sleeve when given the chance. Geckos are a bit slower than other lizards, so, the risk of them scurrying out of site is not very high. However, you do have to watch them like a hawk when out of the cage or they will be off and running.){kind=link}

I have two labs at this time, Buffy and Bella. <br><br>While labs are generally quite intelligent, Buffy is on the lower end of the scale. However, she makes up for it with her sweetness. She is very affectionate, and I swear she smiles. She is protective, but not aggressive. Great with kids and strangers. Labs are terrific beggars when there is even the hope of food, but that is my fault for allowing it. Labs are very trainable.<br><br>Labs believe they are a part of the family. You are their pack. So, if you are considering a lab, they need to be an inside dog. You will break their heart if you make them live outside, and apart from you. Don't do it.<br><br>Both Buffy and Bella shed like crazy. So, if you are thinking of getting a lab, be prepared. They shed all year too. The best thing to reduce the amount of "dust mice" the size of baseballs, is to take them swimming once in awhile. It cleans out their fur, and besides they absolutely love it. Their is no other expression of absolute joy as that of a lab in the water.){kind=link}
