As a farm duck these are excellent foragers and egg layers. The lone female duck pictured above lays 6 or more eggs every week. The others have an average of 4. As far as temperament goes they are very calm and will come up to be fed or let you pet them.
The one thing I thought they would be better at was mothering their eggs. All of them are very bad at it or refuse. The ones that did manage to hatch were never cared for. So if you want to raise ducklings you will want to do it yourself. Keep them well away from the grown up ducks until they start to get all of their feathers.
