Billy Our Goat
At Green Acres we had a boat by the name of Billy. This is one of the brightest goats I have ever come across. Billy was a Toggenburg goat. These are milk producing goats that originated in Switzerland in the Toggenburg valley. I should mention at this point that if you are looking for a milk producing goat or one as a pet, then this might just be your best bet.
Anyway, Billy was the life of the farm. He was always jovial and most of the times up to no good. He always had this innocent look on his face that would almost always get him out of trouble. Billy was the most curious goat I had ever come across and he was always peeping at something. He was curious about all the animals at Green Acres including Mary the cow.
Like they say, curiosity killed the cat, in Billy’s case, he got his leg broken when he once tried to suckle from Mary the cow’s teats. He watched us milk the cow each and everyday until one day he snuck up behind Mary and begun suckling on her teats. I walked in just in time to see Mary kick poor Billy who flew quite a distance before landing at the corner.
From that day onwards, Billy recovered well but his curiosity had been satisfied. You would always find him in his corner shed licking the once broken leg. Meanwhile, maybe I should tell you a bit more about Mary.
