Mallards are a distinct ancestor of the Rouen, as can be seen through their coloring. Drakes have green heads and white collars and an iridescent patch on their wings. The are brighter and larger then Mallards. They are raised for meat and eggs. They are good hatchers and you ca easily end up with a lot more ducks than you began with. They can fly, but not near as well as a wild duck.
