Chickens ARE great pets!

We raised Henrietta from the incubator and my daughter was right there when all of the little chickens hatched. She was the first thing they saw when the lid was lifted. I did this on purpose because the first thing a chicken sees when hatched it believes is its mother. This is called imprinting. We kept the chickens inside until they started flying out of their little brooder and my daughter kept them fed every day and visited with them outside in their coop when they got big enough to go outside. Henrietta is very social and comes running whenever my daughter calls her name. They sit outside on the front porch in the afternoons sharing crackers. I think this is a great pet for any child and being that mine has ADHD it is helping to teach her patience because you have to be somewhat calm around chickens. I hope this review helps someone.
