I owned a beautiful black duck. When you looked at him in the sunlight, you could see green and blue color reflected off his feathers. Originally, he had a wife that was also a Muscovy and black, but she passed. I did not realize how much ducks need a friend.
After she passed, Black spent time looking for a friend, he even sat by the cats and the dog just to be near something. When I saw him do this, I felt sorry for him, so I decided to get him a friend. A friend of mine gave me a white duck and I called him 'White.'
Black and White were great friends and went everywhere together -even across my busy street to the neighbor's pond. Each day, when I could not find them, I walked over to the neighbor's home and yes, they were indeed taking a swim in their pond.
I herded them back across the busy 2 lane highway to their home, into their barn, and confined them in a stall while I went to work for the rest of the day.
They knew what I wanted when I told them to 'get home right now!'
