I was going through a market with my father one day when we came across a box full of tiny little ducklings. We couldn't resist and decided to take two yellow bundles of fluff home with us.

They were just so tiny and sadly one little guy didn't make it through the first night, the other was a little fighter and we decided to call him Rupert. Being very concerned for his health and with his friend being gone I kept Rupert by my side. He grew stronger and bigger day by day and the two of us were firm friends.

By the time Rupert was half way to adult size, we noticed he was developing a limp. After consulting with a vet we started supplementing with bonemeal and the leg improved within a few weeks.

Rupert never had the opportunity to hang out with other ducks, but he was a firm favourite among the other animals and much loved around the yard.
