We were looking for either a LaMancha (because they are calm) or a Nigerian Dwarf (because they are small) and discovered the Miniature LaMancha (or MiniMancha as we prefer). It was the best of all worlds! They have a wonderful temperment, are a nice medium size, and produce a reasonable quantity of exceptional milk.
They do well in a small area and eat less than a full size dairy goat. They are easy to milk and average half a gallon a day each. The milk is sweet and rich and makes wonderful yogurt and cheese too.
