I started raising ducks when I was around 10. They were easy to care for. All they really need is water to swim in and something to eat.Give them these things, and they are happy. During the summer, they spent most of the time down at the creek that ran by our barnyard. During the winter, they hung out in the barn.
Ducks are quiet and easy to handle. They are friendly and not aggressive, unless a mama duck gets bothered on her nest. She is not very happy then.
Our ducks were fun to interact with. When called, they would come and see me. Of course, they always expected a hand out of something to eat.
I recommend ducks for any farm or ranch.
