So far we have had 2 Jersey cows for about two months long. One is for milk, the other for meat. They have been raised so far strictly on Grass, and are doing well.
So far I have two complaints with them, firstly on the milk cow we have only been getting a gallon (sometimes less, sometimes more) a day from her, regardless of whether we milk once or twice a day. We hope after she has her calf she will raise in production volume.
Secondly as we have been only hand milking so far, she has multiple times knocked over our bucket, and kept walking around the pasture instead of staying still for us to milk.
In terms of praise I would say that the milk is absolutely delicious, especially when it is processed as little as possible.
And secondly they are very well tempered cows, and have given very little troubles in that regard.
All in all, I would recommend them.
