Guineas are GREAT at keeping snakes away!

One of my favorite birds, Guineas are the best and most low maintenance birds you could own. They are excellent guard dogs in a way that they will let you know if anything is amiss in the area. I have actually seen a group of Guinea's surround a snake in a circle and screech their lungs out. However, if you want to make sure that they stay around you will have to provide them a roosting area secured with a fence at night or else they will most likely take to the trees. Never clip their wings unless you intend to pen them up at night because of predators. They are a great bird to add to any country home and I saw country home because they can be quite loud!
