Cows are such wonderfully emotional animals. You would have to spend enough time with one to see that they have a large heart of kindness. I was raised on a hobby farm with a few cows. When we were little, my sister and I would build miniature fairy houses on the ground made of sticks for the corner posts and siding, and moss for the roofs. We would plot mini gardens with berries that represented vegetables. We had little mini garages, driveways, and fake trees. We had an entire community, each fairy residence being about one foot squared. This “community” was built at the corner of where the pasture narrowed right before a watering hole, so a very small amount of land surrounded these houses. Every day, when the cows would go to the watering hole, they were so mindful not to step on our houses. They stepped around them and over them, and never once in several years, did they ever destroy one with their massive bodies. We spent our summer days talking to them and lying on their bellies, so somehow they had developed a bond with us. I think cows are such loving, beautiful creatures. Unless there is a bull somewhere!
Guernsey cows make the most delicious cream. It is somewhat orange in color and the butter made from this cream is to die for!
