Acquired: Breeder (non-professional, hobby breeder)

We purchased Dorcus at a livestock auction when I was a child. We were planning on purchasing a few different breeds to raise as a 4H project, but she had other plans. Needless to say, Dorcus never made it to my 4H Livestock Show. She was very territorial and never became fully friendly with my family and me. She was a bully to the other cows, and even bullied our Black Angus Bull to submission. After two years of letting her run the barnyard, we traded her to a neighbor who needed a dominant cow to straighten out his herd. She wasn't exactly the friendliest cow, but she definitely had enough personality and attitude to make my time with her memorable.
