Acquired: Breeder (non-professional, hobby breeder)

We owned a really nice cow that was older but still produced tons of milk. I love this breed due to the quantity of milk produced and also the amount of cream you get from the milk. We would make all sorts of different things from the cream. We made whip cream, butter, butter milk, yogurt anything you could think of that requires heavy cream. Fresh cow’s milk is much better than buying from the store and I miss having my milk cow.
She was very easy to care for and very easy to handle. When it came to milking time she would be waiting at the barn door to be let in. She was very gentle and easy to handle with only one exception. When she had a calf she really didn’t like to be milked. She was still a good girl but would get tense and it was hard to milk her. But once the calf was a couple weeks old she got over it.
We loved our milk cows and I hope soon we can add one to the farm again!
