The Dorset sheep was the ideal sheep for our 12 acre hobby farm in Tennessee. As young adults, my brother and I basked in the joy of exercising and training our prized sheep. The Dorset is very docile and easy to handle, perfect for getting started in 4-H and learning how to sheer. Their wool is springy, spongy, soft...perfect for comfy socks. They are renowned for their ease of lambing, and nothing is quite as cute as baby lambs...oh, what a cool experience. Granted, sheep are wily and crafty, but overall the Dorset was a great asset to us.
