We kept donkeys for quite a few years, and my father still does!
They are very friendly (providing you have a carrot to give them) , they will eat out of your hand if you are gentle..
They mix and socialise with the cows, so they get put in the cow shed over the winter..
We never tried to train them for riding, or leading them by rein, so they are a bit wild in that respect.. But for untrained donkeys I think they are quite friendly..
They are nice animals to own, and if you happen to live in an area where American tourists are constantly going by, expect for your donkeys to get photo's taken of them every day :)
