It is a dual-purpose chicken breed valued for both brown eggs as well as meat. These possess much-sought feathers which make them very fascinating to hold in hands. They have high plumage of light and dark gray pattern feathers with a red rose comb on the head. I use to confuse my Dominique and Plymouth Rock a lot in the beginning when I brought them, but as time progressed, I pointed out so many differences in them. These are very calm and friendly, but sometimes Dominique roosters get very belligerent. I have witnessed this aggression as I often saw my Dominique Rooster killing snakes and small cats. Pros of this breed are they are very resistant to harsh conditions and are good foragers. In eastern countries, it is very rare but still profuse at the regressive farms in western countries.
