Dominiques were recorded as far back as the early 1800's. They are considered a heritage breed because of their long history. My Dominiques are gentle and calm. Even at birth, they are calmer than most. The beautiful black and white plumage sets them apart from others. They lay jumbo brown eggs and are heavy egg layers. This breed is the choice of many homesteaders because of their temperament and consistent egg laying. Some also use this breed for meat due to its size.
