Irish heritage breed. Great for a small homestead. Feed to growth ratio is sustainable and they require less room than hybrids. They are well known as a dual purpose breed. Hardy and do well as a meat breed too, just by feeding and finishing on grasses, no grains are required, thus eliminating the need for low levels of antibiotics to stimulate growth or for rumen health management.
