The Danish Landrace, like the Large or Middle White, is one of the most common pigs, seen the world over. Originating in Denmark, it is the result of cross breeding with the Large White and a couple of other breeds.
In appearance, the Landrace meets fairly standard expectations - it's large and pinky-white. It's favoured by commercial breeders and farmers for its leanness - producing excellent pork and growing on successfully for bacon too.
Sows produce large litters and are excellent mothers producing ample milk. One of the pigs that keeps the world in bacon.
