Cornish Rock chickens are for meat. The females are excellent egg layer and will produce until the near end of their lives or until they are sent to slaughter.
I first acquired Cornish Rock hens and roosters for a 4-h project where I learned that this breed is pretty lazy and slow moving.
Cornish Rocks and Cornish Rock Crosses do not tolerate heat well and, while they do a little better in the cold they still need safe heating elements and to be outside of the wind, snow, and rain.
Cornish Rocks will eat worms and insects though if they are caged they will "kill" the land underneath their pen or run area pretty quickly and there will be little left to forage.
If you are looking for meat this is the way to go.
