Miracle was a hen that I owned from the time she was a chick. She got her name from the fact that she survived an extremely bad scrap with our dog. We were able to nurture her back to health and in doing that, we gained a friend that was as loyal as a dog.
Miracle was a beautiful white hen, not extremely big in size. She was extremely friendly and would actually sit on your lap! She enjoyed feeding times and roosting in the big pine trees by the house.
I think this type of chicken is a great, basic addition to any farm. Miracle was a great egg layer so she definitely earned her keep! I never noticed any bad behavior from these chickens, they are mainly happy to keep to themselves!
This type of chicken is great around children, especially the hens. The hens all loved my many brothers and sisters and would have fun chasing them around, playing "tag". If you're looking for a pet that requires little upkeep, this is it!
