Bred animal myself

I have been raising Heritage White Cochins for 4 years now. They are extremely docile, easy to handle, quiet and curious. The hens are great sitters and even the roosters are maternal and gentle enough to sit on eggs themselves! I have a few roosters who are in the nesting boxes about as often, if not more, than my hens!!
They're fair layers of medium to large size, light brown eggs. They can make a pretty good meat bird to, if you have the heart to eat them, as gentle as they are.
Cochins are in my opinion, the best choice if you are looking for chickens that children can easily pick up and positively interact with. They make exceptional pet chickens.
I continue to raise cochins because of their strong maternal instincts, quietness, gentle friendliness, and the lush, beautiful feathers that go all the way down to their toes.
