Cochins are by FAR the best breed of chicken I've ever owned. They make WONDERFUL pets, mothers, and yard ornaments. :) You just HAVE to try this great breed. I haved raised both the bantam and standard variety and have been pleased with both. It's amazing how many eggs those standards can brood too...many of ours can easily cover 15-18 eggs.  'Blue' is my favorite color for a cochin-it's just lovely and you never know exactly what shade your chicks will hatch out as.
