The full size as opposed to the bantam sized Cochin are a joy to own and show. These semi hardy birds are great mothers, breeders and will keep you in eggs if you need production. What I value more are the medicinal value these characters have. When dealing with autistic or challenged children they are active enough for them to work on eye coordination and the challenge of watching where they are going. They are sturdy enough for our cold and snowy weather. At fairs and other shows thy are a high topic of conversation. Attention getters, and fitting and show table champions these are a great 4H bird. Not recommended for a FFA project since they are not a good high production bird.
