The Cinnamon Queen breed is a modern day dual purpose production breed that has a prolific laying ability while being a well meat breed. This hybrid, is a cross from the Rhode Island Red male and the Rhode Island White female. The hens have a fast body development and begin laying large, rich brown eggs much earlier than the standard breeds. Cinnamon Queens are known for their docile temperament and resistance to heat and cold.
Another characteristic that makes them a favorite is that they are also color sexable as cockerel chicks are white, and the pullet chicks are more brownish red in color. The feathering color varies with reddish and white feathers on the hens. In the adult rooster feathering color varies from entirely white, to white with light, to dark red feathers for the shoulder feathers.
