My granny live at countryside and have a small farm, where she keeps livestock and poultry. I often help her there. Our favourite poultry are Chinese geese.
They have beautiful plumage, provide a large number of eggs per year (up to 100). Their weight is small, the average weight of males and females is 11 pounds.
But their meat is quite tasty. If you have a pasture, feed costs are minimal, because they like grazing. Goslings are resistant to diseases and adverse external weather conditions.
Cons of Chinese geese - they are quite noisy. So it's better not to keep them close to home. And it's pretty hard to pluck a goose.
