Sylvester was one of a pair of Chinese Embden geese I got a while back from a professional breeder. I was experimenting with different kinds of geese so I wanted to try out a Chinese breed. I know it's expected for geese to be loud, but I cannot stress enough how loud these geese were. Sylvester was extremely aggressive and loud. Granted, he was protecting his woman, but he always hissed and honked at me. Even after years of owning them, he never lightened up. He even tried to bite me when they had babies and I would check on the eggs. I would not recommend this breed of geese for people starting out with their first pair. They do not get along with other animals. Make sure you have a sound proof house (unless you keep them in an enclosure far away). Also, I live in Upstate New York, so we had to keep them in an enclosure, or some kind of coyote or wolf would have definitely eaten them. One positive about their aggressiveness is that they functioned as excellent guard dogs. They did have nice, thick white feathered coats, and were relatively easy to take care of (were not sickly).
