Liz Lemon is a beautiful, pristinely white hen who we acquired back in 2012. She was one of our first hens, and we have owned her since she was a chick. She's never been aggressive; however, she's a little skittish, even though we have owned her since she was young.
Her absolute best quality is her mothering - she is fiercely protective of her babies! We do not own a rooster, and thus have brought day-old chicks into the fold. We place them under her when she is broody, and she accepts them all. She protects her babies from other adult members of the flock, although she has never, ever been aggressive towards my children, who love to pick up the babies!
When she isn't broody, she is a great producer of light brown eggs.
