We added 3 Cayuga ducks to our flock for some variety, and they're just gorgeous ducks! They're a medium-sized duck with iridescent black feathers. As our Cayuga ducks aged, they started going white (see the photo) which was a surprise for us.
They laid fewer eggs than our Khaki Campbell ducks, but their eggs were noticeably larger and the egg shell was black to gray in color.
Once they reached the age where they stopped laying eggs, we went ahead and processed them for meat. Since they have black feathers it was VERY hard to completely clean the meat.
I would definitely get Cayuga ducks again for our egg laying flock. They were sweet natured and they were so pretty, it was a joy to see they in the duck yard.
