I want to share my experience with Broad Breasted White Turkey, which I have got helping my granny, who has a farm.
Broad Breasted White Turkeys are demanding birds so you have to care about them. They love freedom, love to walk in nature, require a green pasture. Also they need feeding several times a day (especially they like wheat). In such conditions White Turkey's growth is very good - for half year they weight up to 30 lbs.
Females start egg-laying at the age of 8-9 months. Every year turkey gives 100-130 eggs.
One of the most important features of the Broad Breasted White Turkey breed, which should be paid attention to: at the age of 5-6 months their growth slowed down significantly, the costs of further weight gain dramatically increased. That's why this age is considered to be the best to their slaughter. The meat of this turkey is very tasty.
