Brahmas the Dual Purpose Chicken

I started with Brahmas two years ago when I acquired eggs to hatch from a breeder. They hatched out well and were vigorous from birth. While they grew twice the size of my other chickens they are so friendly that I never had any worries. My younger nephew will carry around my rooster who is 13 pounds and he just sits there enjoying himself. The babies come out loving people straight from the egg. They aren't flighty at all. They lay a light brown egg and lay well at least 5 days a week. They also will become broody and raise their own babies right in the coop. As far as a meat bird they don't have as much breast meat as the Cornish Cross but they have amazing flavor and texture that you can't find in store bought chicken. I'm hooked.
