Country pet for country people

We brought Blossom and Fluffy shortly after moving into our house out in the country. A pair of lambs seemed the appropriate choice for a country house, and kids were at the age where we thought that they would enjoy bottle feeding them.

The lambs grew into sheep quickly, and the kids became quite attached to them. Bottle feeding the lambs was something that that kids really enjoyed, and it certainly provided entertainment. I would certainly recommend getting lambs if you are fortunate enough to live in the country.

I can't really make any comparison between border leicesters and other breeds of sheep, as I haven't owned any other breeds. However they were recommended to me by someone that I trust. We certainly never had any problems with them.

Although we never used either of them for wool or meat we have did get to 'sample' one from the fame flock. It didn't seem right sending our own pets off to the butcher.
