Great for herds and herding!

Boer goats are very popular in the herding realm. Large and typically calm, if trained right they are great for dogs just learning to herd. Most people debud (dehorn) goats but I don't since I don't know how and I'm not sure I want to know how! But goats with horns are more dangerous and can get caught in fences. Important to keep in mind when getting goats! Boer goats are a great investment as they are meat goats and after working with them for a few years you can get some of your investment back. My favorite is a sweet gal who gave birth to triplets last year and raised them with no problem!
