Acquired: Breeder (non-professional, hobby breeder)

Our bluebells were in a mixed flock, with Rhode island reds and a couple of others. Gorgeous to look at. Unfortunately they were introduced slightly later and always struggled to integrate. They very much ended up at the bottom of the pecking order. No major complaints with the egg production, though it didn't really compare with the more reliable breeds (such as the reds). As for chickens in general, they are very much livestock, and not pets, though some people in the suburbs think otherwise. Don't expect any attention from them unless they want food, and be prepared to clean the coop every day, unless you want it to stink!
