The Bluebell hen

These are very attractive birds that come in different shades of slate blue with a darker head and neck.I have found through experience that these hens definitley prefer to be free ranged and do not cope very well inside small areas with high hen populations.Sometimes these hens can be very timid and find it hard to adjust to other hens you may have. All the same these are very nice birds and love human contact. The Bluebell is a hybrid laying hen which will lay around 300 brown eggs a year. The Bluebell originally comes from a Blue Plymouth Rock paternal stock and a Barred Plymouth Rock Maternal stock.
