As the title implies, black herefords are in nearly every way save their coloration the same as red herefords. They calve easily, are very heat and cold tolerant, have few innate health problems, are docile, and have great growth rates that produce lean carcasses. They do, however, have a higher market value than red herefords as their black and white coloration is more desirable. For me, herefords of any color are an ideal breed for small hobby farms and commercial operations alike. Highly recommended.
