Good animals for breeding

Shorthorn cattle are good animals for breeding. They have good quality meat and good yields of milk. In my experience shorthorn mothers often have the best quality calves in a mixed stock.
Shorthorn bull calves would not have great market value however cows and heifers would be worth more.
In comparison to limousins an charolais they do not sell as good, probably because they a more rugged looking animal.
