When choosing our chickens we didn't necessarily go for the best layers available we were more inclined to go for some variety and a range of colors.

My Australorp hen is more dominant then the other 2 and at times will get a bit aggressive towards the other chickens and peck at them - I'm not sure if this is common or not as this is the first time i have had an Australorp. This breed has a beautiful green color through the feathers when in they are in the right light and the feathers are a lot softer and smoother then my other two.

I find the productivity to be good, as we do get a lot of eggs however i wouldn't say it is amazing (this may be due to moving house and taking some time to re settle again). The eggs tend to be a nice brown color and are much larger then what you buy in the shops and they are delicious!
